mosquito LV genomics provides you with highly accurate and precise nanolitre pipetting, enabling you to push the boundaries in genomics research. mosquito can handle even highly viscous samples (e.g. genomic DNA or enzymes in 50% glycerol), operates with standard microwell plates, and can be easily programmed to run a wide range of protocols, which makes mosquito a versatile tool for any genomics lab.

mosquito is changing the way genomics is done - the ability to accurately set up reactions at a small fraction of the traditional volumes (often less than one tenth) leads to a step-change in productivity. NGS library preparation, reverse transcription and cDNA amplification, whole genome amplification, quantitative PCR and other DNA quantification methods all have been successfully automated and miniaturised with mosquito. Miniaturisation with mosquito LV genomics leads to dramatic cost savings and allows researchers to maximise their output of results for a given budget.

Positive displacement pipetting
Each of our disposable micropipettes has its own individual piston - not an air gap or system liquid - offering true positive-displacement pipetting with no risk of cross-contamination.
Our pipetting technology makes mosquito liquid handlers uniquely suited to deal with a wide range of viscosities, from organic solvents to aqueous buffers with 50% glycerol, all without any liquid classification.
Low-volume accuracy and precision
mosquito LV genomics offers low volume automated pipetting in the 25 nL to 1.2 μL range, to a very high level of performance, suitable even for serial dilution or quantitative PCR set-up.

Versatile workflow integration
mosquito liquid handlers have been integrated with a wide variety of other laboratory instrumentation, including robotic plate handlers, stackers and bulk liquid handlers, to achieve walk-away operation in many application areas.
The mosquito Plate Processor (MoPP) is an off-the-shelf compact bench top workcell centred around mosquito. The integration system uses the popular PreciseFlex PF400 plate handling robot and Revolution scheduler allowing a variety of third party equipment to be integrated with any of our mosquito liquid handlers.
NGS library preparation
Reducing the volume of NGS library preparation by 5-fold to 25-fold with mosquito leads to dramatic cost savings. A wide range of kits can be miniaturised, for example robust Nextera XT library preparation in only a few microlitres total volume has been demonstrated.
Single cell genomics
mosquito® is ideal for processing single cells pre-sorted into plates. Miniaturisation of sample preparation protocols with mosquito results in a dramatically reduced cost per cell, which is essential for large-scale single cell studies. mosquito can be programmed to perform your protocols of choice, including full-length cDNA synthesis, cDNA synthesis for 3’end counting, whole genome amplification and library preparation.
mosquito LV genomics is ideal for the handling of large sample numbers in qPCR set up, reducing manual set-up time and the potential for errors while preserving precious sample.
High-throughput DNA quantification
mosquito® LV genomics is uniquely suited to the setup of DNA quantification assays in a high-throughput production genomics environment. Accurate and reliable nanolitre handling even of viscous genomic DNA leads to highly reproducible results from only a few hundred nanolitres of DNA sample.
