High Quality, High Speed, High-Content
Outsourcing has become an increasingly common way of supporting the drug discovery process. The ability to access specialist services as and when needed provides a range of benefits such as flexibility, freeing up of internal resources for more high value activities as well as often being more cost effective that investing in new technologies and skill sets directly.
One area where outsourcing can be particularly relevant is in the area of cell based assays. These assays are deployed throughout the drug discovery process including target and lead identification, lead optimisation as well as early preclinical toxicology evaluation. The use of a high-content based approach further enhances these assays by providing highly comprehensive data to support the decision making process.
TTP LabTech now offers a new contract screening service based on its proprietary Acumen® platform.
High-content screening can be defined as the analysis of fluorescent cellular markers to measure multiple responses to biological stimuli or drug treatment. It has wide applications in drug discovery covering everything from target identification through to preclinical toxicology.
As the inventors of the Acumen and with extensive experience in high-content screening, TTP LabTech is well placed to apply its expertise and capabilities to new and demanding applications to support the drug discovery process.

Levels of Service
In order to provide maximum flexibility TTP LabTech offers different levels of service to compliment your existing workflows.
Our Standard Service is the simplest way of accessing Acumen’s powerful assay capabilities. You run your experiment in-house and then TTP LabTech scans and analyses your plates to deliver raw and/or analysed data rapidly back to you. This is ideal if you already have regular screens running, but also wish to analyse them using a higher throughput, high-content platform as a rapid primary screen, or simply to access increased capacity.
Our Full Service takes the Standard Service much further. Here we undertake the entire study from cell culture, through compound/reagent exposure to analysis and reporting, including full assay development where required.
