TTP LabTech launched comPOUND – the world’s first modular automated sample store in 2002. Since then, more than 35 have been installed in Europe, US, Australia and the UK to provide a proven, robust solution for the storage and retrieval of chemical compounds and biological samples.

comPOUND provides:

• high speed cherry-picking of individual samples to avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles
• temperature controlled, dry, inert storage in a hermetically sealed chamber to ensure sample integrity
• modular design to allow easy expansion from 50,000 samples to 1.2 million
• parallel processing of samples so throughput grows with your library
• pneumatic sample handling offering multiple configuration/integration options and easy delivery to remote labs
• high density storage with a minimal footprint

The comPOUND system consists of a high-density, self-contained sample store and a suite of specialised delivery and processing modules so that comPOUND can be easily integrated into any compound management or screening system.

Multiple comPOUND modules can be linked together to form a fully automated larger store for expanding libraries. Units are connected in parallel, so samples can be accessed from all linked modules at the same time to maximise throughput.
