Locator is the microscope attachment for an Acumen microplate cytometer. It provides a link between the software algorithms used for cell analysis and the cellular staining images observed microscopically. Once a plate has been scanned on the Acumen eX3, the plate is removed and positioned on a powered microscope stage. The stage automatically positions the microplate so that fluorescent objects selected in the Explorer software appear in the central area of the eyepiece on the microscope. As different objects are selected, the stage moves accordingly. In addition the view in the Explorer software can be observed at the same magnification as on the microscope. |

| Another key feature is the ability to locate wells in high density plates. Post-scan confirmation in selected wells can be compromised if the scientist is unable to locate the correct test well reliably in a 1536 or 3456 well plate. Locator eliminates this issue, and clarifies early stage assay development data on the Acumen eX3 to give enhanced screening performance. | |
